Not in Granbury, Texas! 5 days of solid ice? NO WAY!
But oh it's so true! Our driveway looked like an ice rink with 2-3 inches of solid ice. What looked like snow in our yard was actually solid, hard, compact ice mounds. Nobody dared to drive in it the 1st couple of days, but as the sun peaked through the sky, roads grew better and better. As for our yard, well we've yet to see the grass! It will take more than a few days of sun to melt this away, and we are perfectly okay with that! It's rare to look out the window and see WHITE this many days in a row in Texas, so we aren't complaining! Its beautiful.

Tuesday, the roads were finally clear. So we got dressed-up
and went into town to finish our Christmas shopping and visit
our nursing home friends. |
